Provisional licenseTo get your first provisional driving licence on-line for a car you’ll need:- ·to be a resident of Great Britain (there’s a different service in Northern Ireland) ·meet the minimum age requirement ·meet the minimum eyesight requirement ·not be prevented from driving for any reason ·pay £34 by Master Card, Visa, Electron, Maestro or Delta debit or credit card online·have a valid UK passport or other form of identity·have your National Insurance number if known ·provide addresses where you’ve lived for the last 3 yearsYou can apply up to 3 months before you can start driving. Theory TestThe theory test is in two parts. You must pass both parts at the same time to pass. For the first part you will have to answer 50 multiple choice questions. You must score 43 (or above) out of 50 to pass.Then you’ll do part two. - Hazard perception. You will watch 14 short video clips. During each clip you must click every time you spot a hazard. One of the clips has two hazards. You must score 44 (or above) out of a possible 75 to pass.The theory certificate is valid for two years, so keep it somewhere safe!
